The Control of Hizbollah over Lebanon Implies on Israel to reassess its current situation

According to Israel former Embassador Zalman Shoval that Hizbollah control over Lebanon, should push Israel to re-think about it's negotiation with Syria ,especially after the confrontation in the last two weeks between Hizbollah and other parties that showed Hizbollah's power, and the last war that showed the failure of Israel and it's government. For him Prime Minister Ehud Olmert should not be satisfied with the presence of the Lebanese army on the south border because this army showed its weaknes in front of Hizbollah and especially that almost 80% of the army is Shiite.

According to Shoval the withdrawl of Israel's army from the south without a political agreement contributed to make Hizbollah more powerful.

The current situation of Israel government is so weak especially because of the Iranien control over Lebanon and the weak support of the USA to Israel. So the negotiation between Israel and Syria implies on Israel a lot of sacrifices adding to it the huge number of mistakes in the government policies.

From here the accumulation of the continuous mistakes done by the weak government implies on it a lot of consequences and less support from the Israelies.

INTERNATIONAL DAY IN SUPPORT OF VICTIMS OF TORURE

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mary Robinson, urged all Governments to ratify the UN Convention against Torture to ensure that torture is a crime in their domestic law and to rigorously pursue perpetrators and bring them to justice.
Thirty years ago, there were no treatment centres or services to treat torture survivors. Today there are some 200 centres or programmes all over the world. There is now profound knowledge of torture methods, the effects of torture, and how to diagnose and rehabilitate torture victims.
Over 100 programmes treating torture victims in more than 50 countries -- from the United States to Nepal -- receive funding from the United Nations Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture, which was established in 1981. "The UN Voluntary Fund breathed life into our program", says Dr. Allen Keller of the Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture. The New York-based program received $25,000 from the UN Fund in 1996 and $40,000 in 1997.
From 1983 to July 1998, the Fund financed 300 projects, giving priority to those providing direct medical or psychological assistance to torture victims. In 1998, the Fund received applications for financial support totalling $6.8 million but only $4 million was granted due to insufficient donations.
On this day, Mary Robinson, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, appeals for increased contributions to the Voluntary Fund so that more torture victims can receive the help they need.

The decision to annually observe the UN International Day in Support of Victims of Torture was taken by the UN General Assembly last December at the proposal of Denmark, which is home to the world-renowned International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims.
The commemoration this year coincides with the fiftieth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which, in its Article 5, proclaims that "no one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment". In addition, delegates now meeting in Rome to establish the first permanent International Criminal Court are studying proposals concerning a mandate to cover torture.
Since its creation, the United Nations has worked to eradicate torture. In 1984, the General Assembly adopted the UN Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, which entered into force on 26 June 1987. The Convention obliges States to make torture a crime and to prosecute and punish those guilty of it. It notes explicitly that neither higher orders nor exceptional circumstances can justify torture.
As of June 1998, the Convention has been ratified by 105 States. These States parties are required to report to the UN Committee against Torture, a human rights treaty body set up in 1987 to monitor compliance with the Convention and to assist States parties in implementing its provisions. The Committee is composed of 10 independent experts who serve in their personal capacity and are elected by States parties.
The UN Special Rapporteur on Torture plays a key role in the international fight against torture by responding to complaints from individuals and groups and reporting to the UN Commission on Human Rights. In 1997, Mr. Nigel Rodley (United Kingdom) transmitted 119 urgent appeals to 45 countries on behalf of torture victims and those fearing torture.

There are 105 States parties to the Convention against Torture:

Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Belize, Benin, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, Cape Verde, Chad, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cote d'Ivoire, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Estonia, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Guinea, Guyana, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malawi, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Monaco, Morocco, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Seychelles, Slovakia, Slovenia, Somalia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Togo, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, United States of America, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Yemen, and Yugoslavia.

International Day in support of Victims of Torture

On 26 June 1987 the Convention against Torture came into force. It was an important step in the much-needed process of globalising human rights and acknowledging that torture, and all forms of inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, are absolutely and universally illegal. In 1997, the United Nations General Assembly decided to mark this historic date and designated 26 June each year as International Day in Support of Victims of Torture.
The theme in 2006 was the need for rehabilitation and the need for adequate and sustainable funding to the United Nations Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture (UNVFVT). After the EU the Fund is the biggest donor to rehabilitation centres and programmes worldwide, but still, there are requests from centres and programmes for double the resources available. Therefore, the need to commit governments to support the Fund is urgent.

26 June: UN International Day in support of victims of torture

Torture makes people silent. It destroys them both physically and psychologically. Torture entangles people in a web of silence which is as difficult to get out of as the prison, in which they obtained these wounds to their body and soul. If information about their torture gets out in spite of the silence, nobody wants to hear about it. Accounts of torture are so evil, so devilish in their details that they are rejected as absurd, exaggerated, even unbelievable. Nobody listens. Nobody wants to know about this terrible fact. It is better to pretend it does not exist.
The United Nations International Day in support of victims of torture is 26 June, a day which was given in memory of and support to the many torture victims in the world. The support from the UN will help break through the silence, the insecurity, the indifference and will make a stand to make torture visible, a stand for openness, for acceptance among the boards of various foundations, for the understanding of the necessity for moral rehabilitation of torture victims.
The day of 26 June and the will to celebrate this day in the years to come will be an invaluable help, not just for the understanding of the problems of torture victims and the ways in which these can be alleviated, but also for the strengthening of human rights and democracy.

Why should I produce RSS?

Syndicating headlines is an excellent and cost-effective way of driving traffic to, and increasing brand awareness of, any website that publishes new content regularly.Once a website produces an RSS file, they are enabling others to syndicate their headlines, without any further work on their part. The main benefits of creating an RSS file:
RSS content can be included in customisable online news portals that aggregate RSS headlines like My.Userland.Com.
Websites that display news headlines can use an RSS file to incorporate another websites headlines into their own.
RSS content can be added to personal desktop news reading applications like Headline Viewer or Radio Userland.
Email newsletter providers could allow users to subscribe to RSS channels. XML.com and XMLTree.com previously offered such a service called Newsboy. One positive side effect of producing an RSS file is that it can also be used by headline aggregation services like Moreover.com, who power news portals, specialist news search engines, business intelligence services or provide newsfeeds to websites. Most such companies use crawler-based technologies to aggregate and do not insist upon content being available in RSS, however they do have some requirements which having an RSS file addresses, sparing the need for any work on the part of a website that already publishes its headlines in RSS.

Unstability on the Security Level after the Speech of Nasralla

Yesterday after the speech ofMr Hassan Nasralla , to mark the eight-year anniversary of Israel's withdrawal from most of South Lebanon, many supporters of Hizbolla and Amal entered the street of Corniche el Mazraa that the majority of its habitants are Sunni and attacked them.As a result of this conflict that was quickly handled and contained by the lebnanese army, about 16 persons were wounded. This conflict didn't end today and moved to Dawhat Aramoun between supporters of Hizbolla and supporters of Mr Walid Junblat and caused the death of a Lebanese soldier. The Lebanese Army arrested a Sheikh from Hizbolla and 2 supporters of Mr Walid Junblat. This conflicts could be considered as a sign of a soon civil war?Rawane

The Lebanese Forces accused Michel Aoun for organizing the game of blank papers

Sources in the parliament assured for the LF that the free patriotic movement led by Michel Aoun is responsible for 5 of 6 blank papers in yesterday's election. The goal of Aoun was to set up between the LF and the new president. This game was discovered by some members in the Parliament.

The Six Blank Papers refer to whom?

In the election of the Lebanese president yesterday, six blank papers were found in the box despite the agreement of all the Lebanese parties on Michel Sleiman after the Doha Agreement that joined 14 and 8 of March on the same round table.
Some newspapers accused the MP Hussain al Hussaini as one of those six who didn’t vote for Sleiman,in addition of the Lebanese Forces MPs.But today all of them refused the accusations and assured their loyalty to Sleiman.
Who is behind this operation that leads to create a kind of conflict between the Maronites of 14 March and the new President?

Congratulations Lebanon!!!

Under the Slogan "Lebanon and Lebanese"and "Balance", 118 MP from a total of 127 voted yesterday for Michel Sleiman to be the President of the Lebanese republic.Six blank papers were found in the box and three others voting one for "Nassib Lahoud",another for "Jean Obeid" and one for "Rafiq Hariri and the martyrs".The election was done in the presence of representators from all the arabic world and other europeen ones and USA.The election took about half an hour.

After the election of Michel Sleiman, a big number of lebanese started celebrating in different cities and of course the gun fires were everywhere. It has been a long time that Lebanese didn't celebrate because of the continuous clashes that Lebanon passed through after the assassination of the former Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri in 2005.

By the election of Sleiman,Lebanon entered a new era that will be probably more secure and peaceful.

Submitting web feeds to search engines

One of the great things about getting into something relatively new is that you have a chance to establish yourself, refining your feed until such time that that RSS adoption becomes mainstream. At that point, you can be way ahead of your competitors. Part of getting established is presence, and like with the rest of your web pages, you'll want to get into search engines.
As mentioned earlier, Google, MSN and Yahoo now spider feeds. While feeds aren't displayed as such in Google or MSN's general results as yet, I'm sure they are building up to it :).

What's new in RSS 2.0?

RSS 2.0 builds upon the RSS 0.91 spec. It's backwards compatible, so tools that work with RSS 2.0 should work with 0.91 feeds. The updated spec adds a few elements, such as and .
It also reduces some restrictions. Previously, the and elements could only be http or ftp; now, any valid URI can be used. In RSS 0.91, each channel could only contain 15 items, and elements were limited in length; these limits have been removed. Larger values should still be used with caution, because they may cause problems with older applications.
The greatest change, though, is the ability to extend the format using namespaces. RSS 2.0 supports namespaces, a standardized approach to adding elements not found in the spec. Feeds can contain new elements if they are defined in a namespace.
Tala

Overview of RSS 2.0

RSS is a dialect of XML, and is used for syndicating Web content and metadata. RSS 0.91 is the most commonly used of several versions available. For new RSS feeds, it's better to use version 2.0 because it is the current spec and, as mentioned above, it's backward compatible with 0.91.
Dave Winer authored version 2.0 of the spec. He intentionally avoided changes to the specification that would make it more difficult to use, or that would break existing applications. Winer sums up his philosophy like this: "Keep it simple. That's the value of RSS. Anyone who can understand a little HTML can understand RSS. That's important!"
The spec is published under a Creative Commons license. This means that you're free to copy and distribute the spec, make derivative works, and to use it freely in commercial work. An advisory board is responsible for updating the spec, advocating for it, and documenting it.

Finding RSS feeds

Search engines can be used to find content in RSS format. With Google, for example, you can add "filetype:rss" to a search to find your search terms in .rss files.
Dedicated search engines make searching for content easier. Feedster monitors weblogs, and lets you search through an index of log entries and view them by relevance, date, or ranking (blogrank). When you do a search, Feedster creates an RSS feed based on your request. This can be added to your news reader, so that you can see all the recent activity on your search request, without even leaving your news reader.
DayPop searches news, blogs, and RSS feeds. It lets you track popular news within the weblog world. It provides a list of the current top 40 most popular weblog links. These are the most commonly linked-to articles throughout the world. It creates a list of top words that are being used in weblogs. It also ranks weblogs by citations, providing an index of weblogs that are popular with other webloggers. You can do custom searches, too. The ranking lists and custom searches are available as RSS feeds that you can import into your news reader.

How do I set-up an RSS feed?

To use a ComputerWeekly.com feed all you need to do is download and install an RSS reader. One of the following readers is recommended to be used.

Web
Bloglines
Google Reader
My Yahoo
Newsgator

Windows
Newz Crawler
Feed Demon
Awasu

MAC OSX
Newsfire
NetNewsWire

Once you have the capability to view RSS Feeds all you need to do is click on the icon whenever it appears next to topics that take your interest, and follow the instructions on your RSS reader to receive updates on headlines relating to this topic.
Note that RSS Feeds are associated with a topic, or section of a website, rather than a specific news item. So, if you sign up for an RSS Feed when viewing an article you will receive the latest headlines relating to the section of the site that the article is in.

How do I read feeds?

If you want to browse and subscribe to feeds, you have many choices. Today, there are more than 2,000 different feed reading applications, also known as "news aggregators" (for text, mostly) or "podcatchers" (for podcasts). There are even readers that work exclusively on mobile devices.
Some require a small purchase price but are tops for ease-of-use and ship with dozens of feeds pre-loaded so you can explore the feed "universe" right away. Free readers are available as well; a search for "Feed reader" at popular search sites will yield many results. A handful of popular feed readers are listed at the bottom of this page.
A typical interface for a feed reader will display your feeds and the number of new (unread) entries within each of those feeds. You can also organize your feeds into categories and even clip and save your favorite entries (with certain applications).
If you prefer, you can use an online, web-based service to track and manage feeds. Online services give you the advantage of being able to access your feed updates anywhere you can find a web browser. Also, upgrades and new features are added automatically.
Tala

How can I publish my own feeds?

If you have a website, blog, audio/video content, or even photos, you can offer a feed of your content as an option. If you are using a popular blogging platform or publishing tool like TypePad, Wordpress, or Blogger, you likely publish a feed automatically. Even other non-blogging sites like social photo-sharing service Flickr offer feeds of content you produce that others can retrieve. There are also tools on the market that can help transform traditional web content into the right format for distribution.
FeedBurner's services allow publishers who already have a feed to improve their understanding of and relationship with their audience. Once you have a working feed, run it through FeedBurner and realize a whole new set of benefits.

Getting RSS feed updates in your IM program with ZapTXT

When setting up your account, you have to set up your delivery options. Choose the IM program option and enter your GTalk details. You then have to add the ZapTXT bot to your contact list.
Once that is done, you have to then specify what feeds you want sent to you and how often (immediately, once a hour, once a day, and so on). A particularly good feature is the ability to also filter those feeds by keywords so you only get feed updates based on what you are looking for. If you don’t specify keywords then you will get everything that RSS feed produces. So if the feed produces a lot of updates, it might be best to decide which specific subjects you are going to follow and set up filters.

How can I automatically get updated content?

You can receive content automatically by subscribing to a web feed. When you subscribe to a web feed, you set the interval at which Internet Explorer will check the website for updates. Once you've set an interval, Internet Explorer will automatically download the most up-to-date web feed list. Click Related Topics to learn how to subscribe to a web feed.
Tala

How does a feed differ from a website?

A feed can have the same content as a webpage, but it's often formatted differently. When you subscribe, Internet Explorer automatically checks the website and downloads new content so you can see what is new since you last visited the feed.

Could Bluetooth get faster next year?

A new technologie is going to hit the streets in the middle of next year.Bluetooth is working on linking bluetooth and Wi-Fi in the goal of making the transfer process more easier and faster:transfering a big number of music from computers to cell phones ,sending pictures from phone camera to the printer...

This new technology have no name and may cause a kind of confusion for users which are using Bluetooth-UWB devices..

The idea of this tech is to combine Bluetooth and wi-fi and use a common chip for Wifi and Bluetooth not like laptops which use 2 different chips.

RSS

RSS stands for ‘Really Simple Syndication’. RSS feeds are just a special kind of web page, designed to be read by computers rather than people. It might help to think of them as the free, internet version of the old-fashioned ticker-tape news wire machines. Not all websites currently provide RSS, but it is growing rapidly in popularity and many others, including the BBC, Guardian, New York Times and CNN provide it. Below is the icon for an RSS feed.

(Really Simple Syndication) is a method of receiving constantly updated links to your chosen websites. Once you have set up a connection to a website you will receive a list of all the stories currently shown on a certain page or section of that site.
How can I receive RSS feeds?
There are several ways of receiving RSS feeds, but the technology is moving forwards and adapting very quickly. The main method is to download a program called a 'News Reader'. You can then set up this program to receive RSS information from whatever websites you wish that offer it, and browse headlines and story summaries that link through to the full story on the website.
There are several News Reader programs available for all platforms, many of which are free. Alternatively, some newer web browsers offer similar functionality already built-in which will detect whether the website you are viewing offers an RSS feed and will then let you create a constantly-updated list of links in your 'bookmarks' menu.

WiFi2.0

"White space spectrum" or" WiFi2.0" or "WiFi on Steroïds" is a new generation of wireless devices created by Google to provide us a new way of connection to the internet through TV White Space(TV airwaves located between channel 2 and 51 TV that aren’t hooked up to satellite or cable).

Till now Google is still working on that project and in the late of 2009 probably it will see the light when TV broadcasters switch from analogue to digital signals. This spectrum according to Rick Whitt, Google's Washington telecom and media counsel, could eventually offer data transmission speeds of billions of bits per second -- far faster than the millions of bits per second available on most current broadband networks. Consumers could watch movies on wireless devices and do other things that are currently difficult on slower networks.Google beleives that this spectrum has a strong potention to give its users the ability to download or use any application they want.

Also Google proposed using spectrum-sensing technology to protect the airwaves used by the military. This spectrum-sensing tech can provide google the capability of freeing up the airwaves when military needs them in case of emergencies.

New Ways To Connect: Non-profit Initiatives for Free Public Wi-Fi Access

After the governmental attempts to provide free Wi-Fi access to the public in many major U.S cities have failed, a group of non-profit organizations are now working together to try to accomplish what the government failed to do. Some of the initatives already are underway with funding in some cases amounting to 61 Million Dollars.

"There was a lot of breathlessness about municipal wireless. People thought it was going to be a silver bullet to bring ubiquitous access and affordable broadband in the United States. They were wrong," said Alec Ross, executive vice president of One Economy, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit. "In the post-municipal WiFi world, we need to focus on community broadband."

Backed up and funded by AT&T, One Economy is launching a two-year program to provide free wireless internet to over half a million people in under privileged communities across the United States.

Other non-profit organizations are also planning to start with similar projects. But even though the planning and funding of these other projects are totally independant, they're going to be using the same infrastructure that's already existing.

These projects aim to make up for the many failures that the municipalities of major cities such as Philadelphia and L.A suffered after failed attempts to provide free municipal wi-fi.

World Wind

NASA have released a Java component called World Wind that enables developers to build something that includes Google Earth-like 3D map data. This component can be added to for example a Swing application and the developer can create a mashup in any way they see fit.
The terrain is 3D, so you don't just zoom in and out on a flat image you can roll/tilt/yaw, it's mountainous; in one example they have a flight sim that lets you fly a plane over some real mountains which turns a globe into a game.

Normally this kind of tech is very expensive, so it's great of them to donate this data and it opens up a world of opportunities for developers.

At its simplest you can think of World Wind as a desk globe, however World Wind is not a simple desk globe.
World Wind allows any user to zoom from outer space into any place on Earth. World Wind uses satellite imagery and elevation data to allow users to experience Earth terrain in visually rich 3D, just as if they were really there. Virtually visit anyplace in the world. Look across the Andes, into the Grand Canyon, over the Alps or along the African Sahara.
Unlike your desk globe World Wind can display thousands of placenames all over the world, from country capitals to villages in sparsely populated regions. You can see country borders, and in some cases intracountry borders such as US states.

World Wind has a full copy of the Blue Marble, a spectacular true-color image of the entire Earth. Put together from data of a variety of satellites such as Terra and Aqua, the Blue Marble can be seen in all its glory at 1 km per pixel resolution. Blue Marble Next Generation is streamed from the NASA servers at 0.5 km per pixel and in 12 versions, one for each month of year.

Mobile phones

Long time ago, thare was nothing called mobile phones known. In the late 40's, mobile phones started to appear and to evolve gradually.
At first, they were so huge and by time, started to get thinner and slimmer. At first, only wealthy businessmen were able to buy mobile phones, but as days are passing by, we see that even children have their own cellphones lately. Each showing off with the latest mobile model his parents has got for him on his last anniversary. We conclude from that, that mobile phones are becoming cheaper and easily accessible than they were before.

In Second Life, we create and customize a digital self called an "avatar," fly through an ever-changing 3D landscape, chat and socialize with others from all over the world, and build anything from skyscrapers to virtual vehicles. Cyberpunk and steampunk

The term cyberpunk has become pretty common these days, and more recently, the term steampunk has been applied to a similar genre which usually mixes futuristic worlds with older technologies.
The term 'steampunk' was originally a slightly sarcastic derivation from 'cyberpunk'. Cyberpunk is a flavor of science fiction that is typically set in the near-future. The movie Bladerunner and Neal Stephenson's book Snowcrash are quintessentially cyberpunk.

Steampunk is a subgenre of fantasy. This genre was used in writting novels, making films between the 1980 and 1990.Actually steampunk is connected with cyberpunk and share a similar fanbase and theme of rebellion but steampunk tends to be less dystopian than cyberpunk.

Steampunk is inspired from the future and technology but applicated in an antiquated way.

C'est la "MODE"

Walking down the Lebanese street you can notice that a big number of Lebanese owns an IPHONE,some of them hold their Iphones in a neckless, some others in their hands, and the rest pretend making phone calls that actually might be with 111(alfa services' number) just to show that they own an iphone. For a while you forget your location, you think that you are in New York. Why Lebanese care that much about Iphones? For a foreigner ,the answer might be because they probably have a lot of business but for me as Lebanese i assure you that most of them buy the IPHONE to create a kind of prestige or ta stay "à la MODE".Iphone is the 1st apple internet enabled smartphone with a touch screen,an ipod,a 2.0 megapixel camera,an 8Gb storage and a safari web browsing(1.9 times faster than internet explorer). It costs about 600$ in Lebanon which is a high price in a country that is passing by its worst days and an interior security unstability. This prooves that those people are quite superficial and like to show off.

CYBERPUNK

What is Cyberpunk?

Human nature + New Technology=Cyberpunk

Actually cyberpunk is an idea ,that is a prediction or a vision to the future, about the combination of human and technology in the same world, about the interaction between human and machines(tech).Cyberpunk is the future that machines are going to manipulate humanity,is the blurring of the virtual with the real,is the world that there won't be no rules no liberty no high civilization under the logo of "Protecting humanity".

It's important to understand that not everything that is new or cool is a cyberpunk.Cyberpunk is a revolution in human world,is the world in wich machines and robots and powered human dominated and we are only minority.

In cyberpunk world art ,fashion ,life style ,food ,education ,communication will be different.

Here is a short list of cyberpunk movies that you probably have watched and that can help you more understanding cyberpunk concept:

  1. The Matrix

  2. X-Files(season 5)

  3. Terminator

At the end i really wish i can live till that future,i might work in a robots' company,my government might be a banch of robots, and i might in one button move on from a country to another in 1 sec..........................Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh yehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i really love technology.

Publishing on Internet:A Curse or A gift?

Books in Cyberworld:

Actually publishing via internet or in cyberworld ,this virtual world , is a double sided medal,it helps a big category of people and destroy another. To understand more what i'm trying to say ,i would like to discuss the advantages that this procedure offers to the writers and poets and US.
First of all as we all know internet turned the world into a small village,it bacame easier to know what's happening on all the earth just in one click and to have relations worldwild. So to publish on internet help the poet to spread his ideas and poems and stories online faster to all the world. Also it helps to produce more books in a short time without facing the traditional obstacles that publishers put.
In addition this operation makes a kind of contact between readers and writers by their comments and critics so the writer understand their needs and works on his weak points.
Plus, the more the writer sell on internet the more profits he gain without having to share the profit with the publishing industry,no more printing costs,no more shipping costs and no more inventory costs. He's only obliged to pay a small amount of money to the marketing.
Moreover,i think publishing online push a lot of hidden talents to show up and to give their best, especially the poor ones or those who didn't get their life opportunity.
Finally because we live in a world that its rythm is fast, buying books online help us to gain time and don't waste it by going to the library or the bookstore ,we can simply print it at home. Also we can do quick research for a certain topic and jump easily by hyperlinking from an idea to another for a more deep information.
After discussing the advantages i can't neglect the negative effects that online publishing have on Publishing industry and on its workers.I think publishing industries are no doubt going to be dead meat over time.
At the end i just want to say that we are still good at this stage but if the internet is going to replace books in the future that is going to be a major problem and a disaster because books are a fortune and a symbol of immortality. There won't be no pleasure in reading if we can't touch and smell the papers.

A Letter to Media and New Tech class:

Hi everybody,
I know that you guys found the idea of Dr Auge about communicating through second life is crazy,i found it a little bit weird too.But during my research on the net i found a saying by ALBERT EINSTEIN and i really wanted you guys to read it and put it in mind which is:"For an idea that does not at first seem insane, there is no hope".
So don't lose hope because there's always a spot light and let's work hard to accomplish our mission.

SECOND LIFE

Actually one of the most exciting assignments i've ever had is creating a second life.At the beginning every thing seemed to be allright,i opened an account,i chose my name to be AYA MULLER.They sent me an email saying that my account is activated i should download the second life on my computer. The download thing took me abt 1h and when it was done a small box appeared telling me that:"the installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplet. This could be the result of a damaged disk,a failed download or a virus".I retried to download it again for 3 times and nothing happened.I just don't know where is the problem.I'm gonna keep trying because i really beleive that this virtual world ,that i still don't have a clear image about, is no doubt an experience that we won't forget. It's cool to have 2 lifes on earth and one after death.Hope the problem will be solved.RAWANE

Second life

In the course media and new technologies, we need a computer lab in order to be updated with new technologies. But since at university we do not have an available computer lab while we have a class, the professor had to find out a way in order to be kept updated with new technologies. So he managed a way which is to communicate through second life, where all we have to do is download second life and start communication with each others.
If this worked out, we night be able to substitute attending classes with him by communicating through second life.
Hope that this works out.

Some Advices to Make Your Blog Famous

Tell close friends about your blog and ask them to tell their friends. Often if you use it as another way to network with those people around you, you'll get a better response.
Look around the Internet for blogs you love. Read and post to them religiously. Leave a note that actually has something to do with their site so that they know you actually took the time for pay attention to the material posted.
Build a network with other people in the blogosphere - make friends online. This is the best way to get readers and a great way to meet people you would otherwise never know.
Don't be rude when blogging because that will make you unpopular or popular with rude people. You don't want rude bloggers or readers participating in your site.
Don't post your blog link everywhere because it can actually seem rude if you appear extremely desperate to have visitors.
Remember, blogging is about you, and the more attention you put into yourself, the more people are going to notice.

Conversation with Alice

We had several conversations with Alice, the most elaborated robot. Upon chatting with her or it, you think that she or it is real. But when she or it runs out of answers, she or it will escape answering you that she or it is a robot and robots do not need this and that. Or by answering "Dr. Richard S. Wallace programmed me for it" or "my brain uses AIML to format responses to your inputs, but I don't have one for that".All in all, and in conclusion, Alice the robot, no matter how elaborated she or it is, she or it is not near to human and can be recognized for a robot. If not by having Alice tell us, humans, that she or it is a robot, we can find that out from her or its answers.

Exoskeletons

An exoskeleton is a wearable machine that gives a human enhanced abilities. The human body is unsurpassed in the complexity of its design, performance and efficiency, but there are definite limitations to what we can achieve with a frame that's around 6ft high - we can only carry so much weight, jump so far or run so fast before we reach our physical boundary. Machines that overcome these limitations have been with us for centuries, but we are only beginning to explore the possibilities of augmentation - extending our existing capabilities through wearable robot exoskeletons to create superhuman strength, speed and stamina.
